The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) donated equipment to the Sri Lanka Baseball Association for the year 2022 as the development phase of the sport returns. This ceremony took place at the JICA office in Nawam Mawatha yesterday (8th March 2022).
The Japanese hold a dear place in the hearts of the Sri Lanka Baseball community. JICA has sent through coaches for the Development of Baseball in Sri Lanka since the early stages of the sports beginning in the country.
This is yet another act of support towards the game in the country as Baseball was crippled due to the pandemic. JICA took steps to relieve things for the sporting body as they provided equipment to be distributed along with these Development Programs.
Exco Member Chanaka Rukshan received the equipment from JICA Volunteer Coach Mr. Kazune Kodama yesterday.
