Sujeewa Jayantha Wijayanayake of Sri Lanka has been appointed as a Deputy Technical Operation Manager for Baseball and Softball of The Organizing Committee for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Sujeewa assumed duties on the 1st of April 2020 following interviews with the Ministry of Sports in Japan, the Japanese Olympic Committee & the Tokyo Olympic Organising Committee.

His role will be to maintain relations with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Japan Olympic Committee, World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Baseball Federation of Japan (BFJ), and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for all Baseball & Softball Technical matters for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to begin on the 23rd of July 2021.
Sujeewa was selected for this role following his sublime performances with World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Baseball Federation of Japan (BFJ), Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) and Sri Lanka Baseball and he will perform duties for more than 18 months.
